Privacy Policy

The Joinery is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. This policy sets out the basis on which any personal data we collect from you, or that you provide to us, will be processed by us.

Please read the following carefully to understand our practices regarding your personal data. For the purpose of UK data protection law, the data controllers are Miles Pulver (acting for and on behalf of Miles Pulver Limited and trading as The Joinery).

What information will we collect from you?

We will collect information that you give us or that you ask us to collect on your behalf.

How will we use your information?

We will use this information to carry out our obligations to you arising from any contracts entered into between you and us and to provide you with the information and services that you request from us. We will also use your information to keep in touch with you from time to time.

Who will we share your information with?

We will not share your information with third parties except in the ordinary course of providing the administration and/or and meeting relevant legal/fiscal and/or professional obligations associated with our service and the information we obtain, for example: 

  • Administration/Accounting: our accountants may be permitted access to our accounting systems/invoices and your name and contact details stored there; or, if we use a personal assistant service, such service will have access to your name and contact details.
  • Professional Supervision: for the purpose of clinical professional supervision.  This is also a professional requirement for psychotherapists.
  • Your Wellbeing: For your intended benefit for the provision of medical care (including psychological/psychiatric).
  • Serious Harm: we have reason to believe that someone (including yourself) is at risk of serious harm.
  • Compliance and Legal Licence: if we have a legal/regulatory duty to disclose information or where disclosure is permitted by law/regulations and is required to protect our interests
  • Your Request: Subject to the Joint Data provisions specified elsewhere in this policy, where disclosure is made at your request or with your consent.
  • Incapacity: In the event that we are unable to contact you (eg. through sudden incapacity) a trusted person will have access to our client lists and will contact you directly. This is also a professional requirement for psychotherapists.

How long will we keep your information for?

If you are a client of The Joinery we will generally keep your data for up to five years from when we last worked with you.

Cookies

We use cookies to recognise you and your preferences, improve the performance of The Joinery website and to create statistical data. These are small files which are placed on your device when you visit our website.

Cookies will usually fall into one of the following categories:

  • Performance cookies which collect information about how visitors use the website to create aggregated, anonymous information that does not identify the visitor;
  • Strictly necessary cookies which are cookies that are essential to allow you to use website and its features;
  • Functionality cookies which allow The Joinery to remember you and provide a more personalised service;
  • Targeting or advertising cookies which are used to deliver adverts relevant to you.

Some of our cookies remain on your device between your browsing sessions.

You can disable our cookies by changing the settings on your browser but doing so might mean you are unable to use certain features of the Sandler Consulting website.

Your rights

You have the right to ask us at any time not to keep your information. You can exercise this right at any time by emailing us at milespulver@thejoinery.co.uk. There may be an administrative charge for this. The Joinery may also have the right to refuse to comply with your request, for example in order to defend ourselves in the situation of an actual or possible legal claim or professional complaint situation, or to comply with our insurance terms and conditions.

We will let you know our response to your request within one month of receiving it. UK data protection law also gives you the right to access your personal information, to object to the use of your personal information for certain purposes, and the right to erase, restrict or receive a machine-readable copy of your personal information. You can exercise any of these rights by contacting us at the address below. This provision is subject to the Joint Data provisions specified elsewhere in this policy.

Joint Data

Please note that if you have been engaging with our services for relationship work along with a partner, the data (in whatever form including, for example, any notes or recordings made with your consent) which we hold and which inherently refers or relates to both of you is “Joint Data” (to be determined in The Joinery’s sole discretion). You understand and agree that: (i) one of you, unilaterally, will not request Joint Data; (ii) that we may legitimately decline to give you access to Joint Data on the unilateral request of just one of you; (iii) we will grant you access to Joint Data only if both partners provide us with prior written consent or if we are subject to a court order (at your cost) requiring us to disclose such requested information; and (iv) in relation to your engagement of The Joinery, these provisions relating to Joint Data take precedence over any other terms, conditions, provisions, rules and, so far as possible, legislation relating to confidentiality and access to data, whether in this policy, in our terms and conditions or wherever else contained.

Changes to our privacy policy

Our Privacy Policy will be reviewed regularly and any changes we make will be posted on this page.
